Monday, December 13th 2010 - 7pm Christmas Concert - The Old Granary Studio

The Friend’s Christmas Concert will take the same form as in previous years, with a seasonally themed concert during the first half, and a supper interval followed by Carols with many pianos.  Again there will be a raffle of signed CDs donated by artists who have appeared at the Old Granary

Champagne and canapés will be served at 6pm in the
Courtyard of the Old Granary Studio
a piano recital will follow at 7.15pm

Piers Lane performed Chopin's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 in E minor Op. 11. The concert included Beethoven's Leonore Overture No. 1 Op. 138 and Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 3 in A minor Op. 56 "Scottish". Friends enjoyed a cream tea after the concert in the Crypt of St. Andrews Hall.

Friends of the Old Granary Studio were welcomed to the first fund raising event of 2010. Friends enjoyed a walk amongst the snowdrops & grounds of Haddiscoe Hall where they were warmed by a welcoming bonfire by the lake. Refreshments included mulled apple juice, mulled wine, sausages & soup, with subtle music in the background. The event was greatly enjoyed despite the cold wet weather.
